Springfield xd 9mm vs glock 191/21/2024 ![]() 45ACP but I have a friend with a 30SF and I like to shoot that one from time to time. If you simply go by picking one up from the shelf, the xD might win. That is pretty much the way I feel about them. It's similar to the good ol' Ford vs Chevy thing, with Hi-Point/Dodge bringing up the rear as usual. I believe the XD offers more models as far as slide and grip length (tactical, compact, subcompact, 5" slide with compact frame, etc) but the Glock has more available aftermarket parts and can also fit the larger capacity mags in the smaller models as well. I now have a 19, 20SF, 21SF,and just picked up a 23 yesterday. The recoil is more straight back with less muzzle flip than the XD.įor me, the 21SF made me a Glock fan. It is however easier to control accurately with accelerated fire, like in dumping the mag all at once. ![]() The trigger on the Glock has a more decisive breaking point but isn't quite as smooth as the XD. better glock has a well established reputation and service record.and is dominant in LEO circles as an issued weapon or personal purchase weapon. The Glock 19 fits my hand as well as the XD45 does, and the lower recoil of the 9mm makes it all the more enjoyable to shoot. Then the lower bore axis, heavier slide, and grip able make it much more controllable and easier to stay on target. The Glock (21SF) doesn't feel so great in the hand.until you pull the trigger. Definitely like the overall appearance of the gun. The trigger is mushy, but it is easier to be more accurate during slow target shooting type fire. ![]() When firing, it has muzzle flip/rise almost identical to that of a 1911. The XD feels better in the hand just holding it. Here was my experience with both when I shot of them side by side. I consider both equal as far as quality and they should be equally reliable, though people have abused the heck out of Glocks over the years, and they just keep working.
